Destiny 2: How to Get the Phoenix Cradle Exotic Legs

Destiny 2’s Solar, Void, and Arc 3.0 updates brought tons of new build varieties to the game, aging some Exotic gear, making others relevant again, and placing new ones at the top of the heap. One Exotic piece of armor that will never go out of style is the Phoenix Cradle Exotic Titan Legacy. While not as useful as the Loreley Splendor Helm or the Heart of Inmost Light, they are and always have been a solid Exotic workhorse.

This guide lists possible ways to obtain this set of leg armor, though none of the methods below are guaranteed to provide them. You will need some RNG luck on your side.

Solo Legend or Master Lost Sectors when they drop their legs

Note: The image is an example only.

Each day, one of the Lost Sector’s mini-dungeons becomes an instanced activity that you can do on Legend or Master difficulty. If you complete it on your own, you have a chance to get a specific piece of armor listed in the Lost Sector activity description.

You won’t get a new Exotic every time you complete these high-difficulty Lost Sectors, but doing them on Master has a much higher drop rate. However, they usually take much longer to complete than the lower difficulties.

Lost Sector drops also heavily favor Exotic gear you don’t already have, so if you’re looking for your first pair of Phoenix Cradle legs, head to the Lost Sector which drops leg armor and run- the as many times as it takes to get the item.

Check in with Xur weekly

Every Friday at 10:00 AM PST until Tuesday at 10:00 AM PST, Xur, Agent of the Nine, appears somewhere in the world, selling Exotic wares for Legendary Shards. He’ll still have three pieces of armor and one weapon available, but the real freebie here is the random Exotic you can buy at the top of his menu.

As with Legend and Solo Master Lost Sectors, the Purchasable Engram favors gear you don’t already have, so buy it weekly. Completing Xur’s Exotic Cipher quest grants you another chance at the Engram.

Complete every weekly and powerful challenge

You can wish for a star and wait for an exotic engram to drop into the world, or you can increase your chances by always completing powerful gear challenges every week. Vanguard Ops, Gambit, Crucible, Raids, Dungeons, and other powerful or Pinnacle gear all have a chance to drop an Exotic as a reward. It’s a small chance, but still possible.

Although the legs of the Phoenix Cradle are not guaranteed to you using the tips described here, they do make the process faster and more economical. The Lost Sector farm is especially good if you can bear not always getting exactly what you want. Check out our other Destiny 2 guides while you’re here, including our Dungeon of Duality walkthrough, how to get Gjallarhorn, and more.
