How To Clean Your Pokemon GO Storage – What Should You Keep?

Inventory space can be one of the biggest thorns on the side of Pokémon GO players. Deciding which Pokemon to get rid of is a tough choice, but it’s one that unfortunately has to be made sooner or later. Using the tips below can help players go from cluttered and full to spacious and ready for more shots.

How to Clear Pokémon Inventory in Pokémon GO?

Clearing your Pokémon GO is quite simple, but may not be obvious to new players. Following the steps below should help players understand the Pokémon release process a little better.

How to Transfer a Single Pokemon in Pokemon GO

  • Click on the Pokéball in the bottom center of the screen and select Pokémon.
  • Find the Pokemon you want to transfer and click on it.
  • Click the options button (the three dashes) at the bottom right of the screen.
  • Click the Forward option, then click Yes.

How to Transfer Multiple Pokémon at Once in Pokémon GO

  • Click on the Pokéball in the bottom center of the screen and select Pokémon.
  • Find the Pokemon you want to transfer and hold your finger on the Pokemon. This will put you in selection mode. You can now select multiple Pokemon to release.
  • Click the Transfer button at the bottom of the screen and the Pokemon should be gone.

Which Pokémon should you unleash in Pokémon GO?

Choosing which Pokemon to get rid of can be a tough choice. A great way to decide who should stay and who should go is to sort your Pokemon by their IVs, which is basically their potential to reach max CP. This can be done by typing 0*, 1*, 2*, 3*, and 4* into your inventory search bar. The best Pokemon to get rid of are those with low IVs (0*, 1**, and 2*) while higher IVs (3* and 4*) are better preserved.

Another measure that can be used when trying to reduce your inventory is to remove Pokémon that you have duplicates of. Sorting your inventory by Pokédex number is a great way to determine which Pokemon aren’t needed. Players generally don’t need to keep more than one given Pokemon unless it’s a good competitive monster.

Sorting by CP and transferring all Pokémon below a certain level is also a great way to thin out the herd. Pokemon with lower CP will require more Candy and Stardust to reach their maximum power, so if it’s a relatively common Pokemon in question, it’s probably best to transfer it and research a monster to Higher CP.
