How to Unlock Enchantment Perks in God of War Ragnarok

God of War Ragnarok is a very complex and well-developed game. It has many customizable items that can help Kratos in his quest to beat Odin. The accessory system, armor, and weapons are immediately apparent and self-explanatory, but the enchantment perk system has confused some players about how it works.

How to Get Enchantment Perks in God of War Ragnarok

You can get the enchantment in God of War Ragnarok after beating the Nidhogg. During the Vanaheim story sequence, Freya will need to interact with the roots of the world tree Yggdrasil. During this process, a giant snake-like creature called Nidhogg will awaken and you must defeat it in a three-step battle sequence. After defeating him, you’ll receive an Amulet of Ygdrassil, which you can customize with enchantments to boost Kratos’ stats.

Enchantments work as passive items that individually boost Kratos stats in God of War Ragnarok. You can combine some of the enchantments with their counterparts from the same realm, giving Kratos additional bonuses. For example, the Svartalfheim set will give you a defense set bonus and increased stun damage that scales based on Kratos’ total defense rating.

There are nine enchantment slots on the Amulet of Ygdrassil, and you can combine up to three realm sets for maximum bonuses. This may not be everyone’s preference, as some enchantments give you good stats but aren’t part of any realm set. One of these enchantments is the Greater Regenerative Essence, which grants you a significant health regeneration bonus and is among the most useful essences.
