Skyrim: In a Time of Need Quest Guide

Skyrim: In a Time of Need Quest Guide

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim contains a massive world filled with adventure, monsters, and loot. Many of them combine in the various quests that make up the title, including the In My Time of Need quest. You can find a guide on how to complete the In My Time of Need quest below.

How to complete In My Time of Need in Skyrim

You will likely receive this quest from the start upon entering Whiterun. This quest has several stages and several different outcomes depending on how you handle it. Here’s a step-by-step guide to completing In My Time of Need in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Talk to the Alik’r Warriors

You should encounter the pair of Redguard bounty hunters at the entrance to Whiterun, but it’s also possible to encounter them patrolling outside of town. They will ask the player to help locate a female Redguard, who they believe is missing.

The Redguard woman is called Saadia and can be found in The Bannered Mare in Whiterun. By talking to her, you have the option of informing her of the bounty hunters who are looking for her. She will then ask you to follow her upstairs and talk privately.

Talk to Saadia

You can follow her upstairs and listen to what she has to say, or you can turn her around immediately. If you decide to reveal its location to the bounty hunters, you can complete the quest and claim your reward. If not, you can listen to her and find out why she is running.

The Redguard warriors are actually assassins sent to kill her for talking to Hammerfell. If you offer to help her, she will tell you that the pair work for a bounty hunter named Kematu and ask you to kill him.

Return it to the Alik’r Warriors

If you didn’t choose to help Saadia, you can return to the Redguard Warriors. The Alik’r Pair will ask you to lure it to the Whiterun Stables. This will lead to his capture and, ultimately, his death.

If you haven’t made it to Saadia, you need to find Kematu. Head to the Dragonsreach Dungeon in Whiterun and talk to the prisoner Alik’r. If you agree to bail out the prisoner by paying 100 gold, he will inform you that Kematu is in Swindler’s Den. If you have already completed this dungeon, you do not need to complete this step.

Kill Kematu or help him

Eliminate Swindler’s Den and face the bounty hunter Kematu. You can listen to Kematu, who explains that Saadia is a traitor and must face justice in Hammerfell. If you refuse, you will have to fight Kematu and other enemies. If you change your mind, you can reveal Saadia’s location again and lure her into a trap.

Back to Saadia

If you haven’t betrayed Saadia, just join her in Whiterun and let her know that Kematu won’t bother her anymore. This will net you a reward, and the other two bounty hunters in Alik’r will eventually give up the search.

Should you help or return Saadia in Skyrim

In the end, it doesn’t matter if you help Saadia or deliver her to the Redguard Warriors, either choice will net you 500 gold. It depends on the type of character you play. Would your character rescue Saadia or just hand her over to the bounty hunters?
