Splatoon 3 Charger – best uses and weaknesses

Splatoon 3 offers a slew of weapons to suit any playstyle. While some are better for hyper-aggressive thrusts, others are better suited to the more passive tactical player. The latter might prefer loaders, which function like snipers in other shooters. What’s nice about Splatoon 3 is that every map offers at least a few areas where Charger users can post, get a good eye on the action, and take out enemies.

Splatoon 3 Loader Highlights

Players will want to hang back to get the most out of a loader. Being anywhere near the middle of the map will result in being destroyed by any scrolls, ink brushes, or splatters in the area. Instead, stay back and look for enemies in the open.

  • Can safely shoot from afar
  • Usually only needs one hit to kill
  • Can see the whole map when sitting on a high perch

Splatoon 3 Loader Weaknesses

Loaders take a while to load their shots, so they’re automatically at a disadvantage if an enemy with a different weapon gets close. If this ends up happening, the best thing the loader user can do is swim to a safe area to resume firing.

  • Can’t fuss well with opponents
  • Will lose all engagement if the opponent gets close
  • Requires a specific goal

Splatoon 3 Loader Type Weapons

Splat Charger (Level 2)

  • Splat Bomb: A small projectile that can be thrown a fair distance. It will explode several seconds after landing, releasing ink into the surrounding area.
  • Ink Vac: Creates a vortex that sucks in enemy ink. It can prevent teammates from getting inked, and after the timer runs out, it will release a big jet of ink.

Classic Squiffer (Level 8)

  • Point Sensor: When it explodes, it creates a cloud in the user’s ink color. Any enemies that pass through this cloud will receive a marker swirling around them, identifying their location for the team.
  • Big Bubbler: Forms a large cylindrical barrier when placed. Enemy ink will not be able to penetrate this barrier, but enemies can shoot if they get inside.

Splatterscope (level 10)

  • Splat Bomb: A small projectile that can be thrown a fair distance. It will explode several seconds after landing, releasing ink into the surrounding area.
  • Ink Vac: Creates a vortex that sucks in enemy ink. It can prevent teammates from getting inked, and after the timer runs out, it will release a big jet of ink.

4K E-Liter (Level 18)

  • Wave Breaker: Creates an ink balloon that emits three shock waves. All enemies hit by a Shockwave will take ink and have a marker surrounding them.

Bamboozler 14 MK I (Level 23)

  • Autobomb: An explosive that actually works. When fired, the Autobomb searches for a nearby enemy, then explodes after a period of time.
  • Killer Wail 5.1: Summons six speakers that fire like ink beams. The user can target an enemy, then the six beams will fire in multiple directions, one of which is the targeted player. It can even crush enemies hidden behind walls.

4K E-liter scope (level 27)

  • Ink Mine: A small bomb that can be placed under the user. If an enemy steps over it, the bomb will explode with ink. If no enemy steps over it for a while, the bomb will explode on its own.
